Muchie loves to run. He loves his friends. He loves his family. And… he loves obstacle courses! Naturally, this led to our family teaming up with a few families from Munchie’s school and running the craziest fun run I’ve seen for kids his age.
From climbing hay bales a couple stories tall and sliding down massive slides, to running through giant foam pits (like you’re at a foam party at an 18 and under club at the beach in the 90’s), the series of crazy can-do activities for kids to accomplish along the way made for a hysterical and joyous morning. Ball pits, bounce houses, and even a giant water pillow. A wading pool, bobbing and weaving, and even a pretend barbed wire crawl. At one point, we were blasted with various colors and then hosed down by people with water launchers!
The kids all had a fabulous time and the parents truly enjoyed spending quality time with their little ones and getting to know one another better, too.
We will most certainly be doing this run again (especially since he’s still talking about it 10 weeks later). Note for future events – bring more water! I was shocked they didn’t have any water stations to keep the kids hydrated and definitely saw some folks leaving by ambulance. Oops! Camel Pack things would be great – especially since you’re running through obstacles.
